Why save endangered animals?

As stated above, saving endangered animals can be considered as part of the religious order. For Christians, it is stated in the first chapter of Genesis that man was anointed to govern over the creation of the Creator. Muslims also place great value to animals. The Hindi people treat animals as their gods. Man may be appointed as the leader above everything else on earth and may use animals for food and items but must manage the consumption of it properly.

Another reason why saving endangered animals is important is because of the role they play in the ecosystem. This can be related to the belief of the Hindu that everything is related. Once a certain species becomes extinct, the whole ecosystem becomes disturbed. Moreover, when our animals are all consumed, our chances of survival will be lowered. We may eat plants as an alternative but it does not complete the nutrition our body needs. Also, without animals, we will no longer have a source of leather and fur for clothing.

Saving endangered animals can be done in protecting the animals’ habitat. One of the main reasons why animals become endangered is because of the destruction of their habitats due to certain human activities. Forests are being cut down for construction of buildings. Coral reefs are taken for fortune. Coral reefs are also destroyed every time fishermen use dynamite fishing. Pollution is another factor that destroys the habitat of animals. With their homes out of place, animals have low chances of survival to the new environment.
